Newsletter/ Classes for Spring 2011

Spring 2011
May & Spring time thoughts. It has been a
really long and hard winter; we can all use
some of that vitamin D.

By now, I’m sure you all know that SEW
MATERIALISTIC has moved to 1184 E.
18th St. between Avenue K & L, side door
entrance. We’ve finally gotten our act
together and can find our stock more
easily. Classes, of course, will continue
through the summer and we hope you will
take advantage and take a relaxing break
from your roller coaster life. Come in, laugh
a little, relax a little, and learn a lot!

We will, unfortunately, no longer be
carrying dressy fabric due to lack of space.
We will, however, continue to carry linings.
Special orders will be taken for schools,
camps and what not. (As always you’ll
receive a discount.)

My favorite pick:
Have you tried Fray Check? It’s a
marvelous product to have in your sewing
box to prevent unraveling. Some people
like to treat the edge of ribbons- use Fray
Check. Have a splitting seam and need a
stopgap?- use Fray Check. Seams starting
to unravel?- use Fray Check.

New items in stock:
Nursing bra hooks. Change your current bra
into a nursing bra for only $2.99!

The Infomercial :
Our move has generated many questions
about parking and transportation. Alternate
side is Tuesdays & Wednesdays until
11:00am (how cool is that? We open at 11!)
The B11 and B6 run on Avenue J and stop on
E.18th, we are between K & L. The B9 runs
on Avenue M and stops on E.18th, we are
between K & L. The train stops on Avenue M
and/or Avenue J, which is on East 16th
Street, and we are still between K & L.

Call between our regular store hours: 11:00-
6:00 for an evening appointment.

A few points to remember:
- Sew Materialistic offers a 25% discount on
any $100+ purchase to all camps, schools,
and businesses. A 10% discount on any
purchases under $100.
- We offer demos on quilting for any function
at a minimum fee. Everyone leaves with a
small project and an introduction to quilting.
All ages.

From us,
Malke, Blima, Lena, and all the Teachers

P.S. “In Seattle you haven't had enough
coffee until you can thread a needle on your
sewing machine while it's still running.”
