Fall Newsletter 2009

FALL- NEW BEGINNINGS.
Beginning of the new school year. Beginning of a regular work week. And for my family, beginning of a New Year.
We have also had some changes over the summer- some good, some sad. Roxy Yarns is no longer with us, as Roxy and her family have moved to Israel. We will all miss her quick wit and exemplary talent as a knitter. Good luck!
For Roxy Yarns’ customers: we will be carrying Red Heart yarns, Lion Pound Of Love, DMC size 8, Susan Bates supplies for knitting and crocheting. Knitting and Crocheting classes can be scheduled.
For all our loyal “sewing” customers, we now include in our inventory dressy fabrics. We carry velvets, satins, chiffons and organzas in solid, basic colors. Please come in and check it out!
We are also pleased to introduce some new teachers. In quilting… Ellen Piccolo and Susan Sato. In sewing… Rosa Nasi.
*NEW FEATURE*
My favorite pick: “Quilters Home,” a relatively new magazine in the quilting world, is full of humor and thought provoking articles. There’sactually something to read. We, of course, sell it at SEW MATERIALISTIC because no one should ever take themselves too seriously.
New items in stock:
*Steam-a-seam 2 by the yard- great for appliqués. Come in and see a demonstration.
*The Creative Grid 2 ½” x 6 ½” ruler. (We are also very proud of the fact that our
name, SEW MATERIALISTIC, is printed front and center on each ruler.) Sweet…petite…
*Janome Magnolia sewing machine. It is a model we use in our classes and is perfect for new sewers at a price that can’t be beat!
*That’s besides all the new fabrics we restocked over the summer.
Oh, to think I almost forgot about “Midnight Madness!” On Saturday night, December 5, 2009, from 7pm to 7am we will go mad for quilting. It will be an all night quilting bee! Join us and quilt- between schmoozing, dancing, and eating, that is… Late night snacks will be served, and breakfast for the strong of spirit.

Take care,
Malke,
Blima, Lena, Yehudis
